DMDI provides asbestos management and refurbishment and demolition surveys for housing providers, commercial clients and homeowners across East Anglia. Every survey is carried out in full compliance with HSE guidelines (HSG264) by our in-house qualified surveyor, whose experience in the asbestos sector spans decades. We do not carry out asbestos removals, which means our assessments are entirely independent, you can trust that our recommendations are made solely in your interest, with no conflict of interest.

Asbestos management surveys

An asbestos management survey is the standard survey required for premises in normal occupation and use. It locates asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) that could be damaged or disturbed during day-to-day activity, routine maintenance or when installing new equipment. Our surveyor identifies materials, assesses their condition and provides clear guidance on the best course of action to manage them safely and in line with your legal obligations.

  • Identifies and assesses ACMs in occupied premises
  • Supports the development of an asbestos register and management plan
  • Carried out in full compliance with HSE HSG264 guidance

Asbestos refurbishment and demolition surveys

Where a property is due for refurbishment, upgrading or demolition, a refurbishment and demolition survey is required before structural work begins. This survey locates and identifies all ACMs in the affected area through destructive inspection, ensuring that any asbestos present is identified and managed before works proceed. The surveyed area must be vacated and certified fit for reoccupation following the survey.

  • Required before any refurbishment, upgrading or demolition work
  • Fully destructive inspection of the affected area
  • Coordinates with your wider project programme to minimise disruption

Targeted asbestos surveys

Where a full building survey is not required, DMDI can carry out a targeted asbestos survey scoped to a specific area or element of a property. This is particularly useful ahead of planned works on roofs, rooflines or other defined areas, where the survey needs to focus on the materials most likely to be disturbed. A targeted survey provides the information you need to proceed with works safely and compliantly, without the time and cost of a whole-building assessment.

  • Scoped to a specific area or building element, such as a roof or roofline
  • Ideal where planned works are confined to a defined part of the property
  • Provides the information needed to proceed safely and meet your legal obligations

DMD have been instrumental in supporting both our performance programme and our Norfolk Hoopstars Foundation. Their support has provided kits, equipment and ensured players have been able to either continue playing basketball or a route into the sport. We have a great relationship with Steve and the team at DMD and are very thankful for their continued support.
