FAQs
Got a question about our asbestos survey services? Find answers to some of the most common queries below, or get in touch with our team directly.
A management survey is the standard survey for premises in normal use. It identifies ACMs that could be disturbed during day-to-day activity or routine maintenance. A refurbishment and demolition survey is more intrusive and is required before any structural work, refurbishment or demolition begins. Our team can advise which survey is appropriate for your requirements.
Under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, anyone responsible for the maintenance of non-domestic premises, or a landlord of domestic premises, has a duty to manage asbestos. This includes maintaining an asbestos register and an asbestos management plan. Our surveys provide the information you need to meet that duty.
No. DMDI does not carry out asbestos removals. This means our surveys are entirely independent and our recommendations are made solely in your interest, with no conflict of interest.
Yes. As a specialist roofline and cladding contractor, DMDI regularly carries out asbestos surveys ahead of installation works. This joined-up approach means any asbestos risks are identified and addressed before works begin, reducing delays to your programme.
Our lead surveyor holds a Level 4 Diploma in Licensed Asbestos Removal for Contracts Managers and has decades of experience carrying out surveys across a wide range of property types. All surveys are carried out in full compliance with HSE HSG264 guidance.
