DMDI is an IOSH affiliated training centre delivering accredited Managing Safely courses for managers and supervisors across East Anglia. Whether your team is completing the full IOSH Managing Safely qualification or returning for a refresher, our experienced trainer delivers every course to the standard your organisation requires.     Course duration: 3 days

    IOSH Managing Safely gives managers and supervisors the knowledge and skills they need to manage health and safety within their teams. The course covers responsibilities for health and safety, hazard identification, assessing and controlling risks, accident investigation and measuring performance, ultimately giving managers the confidence to drive a strong health and safety culture.

    What is the course duration?

    The initial IOSH Managing Safely course takes place over 3 days. The refresher course is 1 day (available to delegates who have completed the full course within the last 5 years).

    Who is this course suitable for?

    The course is suitable for managers and supervisors across all sectors.

    What does this course cover?

    The course covers assessing and controlling risks; understanding responsibilities; identifying hazards; investigating accidents and incidents; measuring performance; and protecting the environment. The course is assessed in two parts: a 45-minute closed-book assessment of 25 questions (minimum 60% pass mark), and a risk assessment project completed within your own work environment. Upon passing both, an IOSH certificate is issued. Note: the IOSH Managing Safely certificate does not have an expiry date, though a refresher every three years is recommended.

    The course can be held at the Norwich-based training facility or at your premises. The maximum number of attendees per session is 20.

  • IOSH Managing Safely Refresher Course

    Course duration: 1 day

    £255 (exc. VAT)

    The IOSH Managing Safely Refresher course is a one-day course designed to help managers and supervisors refresh their knowledge of health and safety management. It is a requirement for delegates to provide their full Managing Safely certificate number (which must be within the last 5 years) to enable registration and completion of the course.

    Who is this course suitable for?

    This course is for delegates who have previously completed the full IOSH Managing Safely course within the last 5 years. Delegates must supply their full Managing Safely certificate number prior to attending.

    What does this course cover?

    The refresher course revisits the key elements of the full Managing Safely course, relating them to a plan-do-check-act safety and health management system, with leadership at the forefront. At the end of the course there is a closed-book assessment, with a minimum pass mark of 50% required for an IOSH certificate to be issued.

Holding a Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety and a NEBOSH National General Certificate, and a Certified Member of IOSH himself, Chris brings a depth of practical knowledge to every session that goes well beyond the course material. Delegates leave with a genuine understanding of how to apply what they have learned in their day-to-day roles.

IOSH Managing Safely is designed for managers and supervisors across all sectors who are responsible for the health and safety of their teams. It is suitable for those new to a management role as well as those looking to formalise their existing knowledge with a recognised qualification.

The IOSH Managing Safely certificate does not have a formal expiry date. However, IOSH recommends completing a refresher every three years to ensure your knowledge remains current. Delegates who completed the full course within the last five years are eligible for the one-day refresher course.

The course is assessed in two parts: a 45-minute closed-book assessment of 25 questions with a minimum pass mark of 60%, and a risk assessment project completed within your own work environment. Both elements must be passed for an IOSH certificate to be issued.
