This course is for delegates who hold a current SSSTS certificate that is due to expire, or has expired within an acceptable timeframe. It is aimed at site supervisors and forepersons working within the construction industry.

The refresher course revisits the core elements of the full SSSTS, with an emphasis on updates to legislation and current best practice. Topics include health and safety law; risk management; supervisory responsibilities; welfare and environmental duties; and accident reporting. Delegates are assessed through coursework and a written examination.

The course can be held at our Norwich-based training facility or at your premises. Upon successful completion, delegates will receive a renewed SSSTS certificate valid for a further 5 years. The maximum number of attendees per session is 15.

The course covers health and safety legislation relevant to site supervisors; risk assessment and safe systems of work; hazard identification and control; responsibilities for the health, safety and welfare of workers; environmental considerations; accident reporting and investigation; and the role of the supervisor in promoting a positive safety culture. Delegates are assessed through a combination of coursework and a written examination.
